Ammersee is one of the most beautiful lakes in Bavaria and one of the best day trips from Munich. Located about 40 km southwest of the Bavarian capital, the lake offers a mix of relaxation, nature, traditional villages and Alpine views.

Compared to Lake Starnberg, the Ammersee is quieter and less glamorous. It feels more local, more relaxed and slightly less touristy. That is exactly why many visitors prefer it.
